David L. Hopkins

David L. Hopkins, 82, of Jefferson, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2018, in Uniontown Hospital.

He was born Saturday, June 20, 1936, in Waynesburg, a son of the late William L. Hopkins and Nellie Conklin Hopkins.

Mr. Hopkins was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of Waynesburg Moose Lodge 461 and United Mine Workers of America, having worked as a coal miner at Marianna Mine.

His wife, Irene Elizabeth Clayton Hopkins, died May 20, 1983.

Surviving are a daughter, Tamara Lynn Hopkins of Farmington; a sister, Lillian Ulrich of Waynesburg; a brother, John Hopkins of Lancaster; his significant other, Patricia Celli; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are four sisters, Aldean Sanders, Evalena Malmgrem, Eleanor Sagges and Hazel Hadrick; four brothers, Dennis Hopkins, Robert Hopkins, Wallace Hopkins and William S. Hopkins; two half brothers, Delmont Conklin and Earl Hopkins; and a half sister, Helen Bradley.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 3, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 4, with Pastor Robert Mooney officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
