Lois Elaine Goeddel Huffner
Lois Elaine Goeddel Huffner, 92, formerly of Glen Dale, W.Va., died Saturday, December 29, 2018, in Mound View Health Care, Moundsville, W.Va.
She was born April 10, 1926, in Wheeling, W.Va., a daughter of the late August Phillip Goeddel and Loretta Sophia Jaeger Goeddel.
Lois was a graduate of the former Wheeling High School and an avid churchgoer at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bethlehem, W.Va., where she was a lifelong member of the church and its choir.
She was a avid dancer with her husband, Harold. They especially loved to jitterbug and were known throughout the Ohio Valley as Fred and Ginger. She loved to make people smile, was very kind and loved traveling, social gatherings and her family.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Harold Raymond Huffner, who died in 2014, and a brother, Nelson Goeddel.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sandra L. (Cleason) Smith of West Middletown, Simone (Earl) Goodwin of West Alexander and Susan (Larry) Lucas of Glen Dale; four grandchildren, Allen (Susan) Ferris, Cecily Ferris, Joshua Lucas and Jacob Lucas; two stepgrandchildren, Bryanna Goodwin and Peter Mugabo; and a nephew, Dennis Goeddel of Philadelphia.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Wheeling. Arrangements are by Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, 304-242-2311.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lois Huffner’s name to Mound View Health Care, for the activity fund for the staff and residents, 2200 Floral Street, Moundsville, WV 26041.
All the staff at Mound View Health Care provided Lois with great care.
