Irene B. White
Irene B. White, 93 of Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of Richeyville, PA passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 in Kane Ross Regional Center.
She was born in 1925 in Washington County, a daughter of the late Roland and Mary Belle Cresswell.
Mrs. White was a 1943 graduate of California Area High School.
During WW II Mrs. White worked in Detroit MI as an inspector of artillery bombs for the U.S. Army. Irene later retired from Brownsville Sportswear where she worked as an inspector.
Mrs. White was a former active member of Cornerstone Bible Church Brownsville and a former member of Beth Center Senior Citizens and belonged to several bowling leagues and card clubs.
She enjoyed attending family events and traveling extensively across the U.S. as well as internationally. She thoroughly enjoyed her travels.
On February 8, 1947 she married Robert C. White who died November 7, 1989.
Surviving are a son Robert C. White (Patricia) of Pittsburgh, PA; a daughter in law, Toni White of Chambersburg, PA; a sister Lillian Richards of CA; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a son Daryl E. White MD who died in 2009; five brothers, Daniel, Roland, William, Grover and Q. Donald Cresswell; three sisters, Thelma Boyer, Maude Eaton and Annabelle Beardsley.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd. 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA where Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11 AM with Pastor Gary J. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery, Long Branch, PA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to a charity of one’s choice.
