Thomas Wray Richardson
Thomas Wray Richardson, age 82, of Sewickley, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.
He was the only son of the late Thomas “Tommy” and Arminta Richardson of Washington, who were the owners of Richardson’s Antiques on 127 East Chestnut Street.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Claudette Duplechin Richardson (whom she affectionately called “Wray”) and son Todd Wray Richardson. He was also brother-in-law of Helena G. Hughes and the late John W. Hughes; and uncle to Pamela Hughes, Charlie Sims, Kenneth Sims and Niece Lauren Sims.
Thomas graduated from Washington High School in June 1955. He then went on to serve four years in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959 as an Aviation Machinist. After an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Navy, he enrolled in Pittsburgh Institute of Areonautics on February 2, 1960 and graduated September 12, 1961. Allegheny Airlines hired Thomas as an Aviation Mechanic on May 4, 1964 and he retired from UsAirways on September 1, 2002, giving him almost a 39-year career with the same company.
He was a retired member of the InternationalAssociation of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Potomac Air Lodge 1976 in Coraopolis.
Family and friends are welcome for viewing at Richard D. Cole Funeral Home, 328 Beaver Street, Sewickley, PA 15143, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Wednesday. Funeral burial service is at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 10, at Christ Church at Grove Farm, 249 Duff Road, Sewickley.
Interment to follow with military honors in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
