Paul R. Morris, 89, of Wildwood, Fla., formerly of Waynesburg, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019, in The Villages (Fla.) Hospice House.

Paul was born September 5, 1929, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Ross and Blanche Longstreth Morris.

Paul was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of employment.

Paul and his wife, Betty, moved from Pennsylvania to Florida more than 30 years ago.

He was Methodist. Mr. Morris enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting. He was a life member of Waynesburg Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4793 and U.A.W. Locals 1747 and 755.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Betty Jane Morris of Wildwood; a son, John R. Morris of Lexington, Ohio; three grandchildren, Traci Bowlin, Greg Morris and Jessie Morris; eight great-grandchildren, Bethanie Ferrell, Troy Ferrell, Selena Morris, Vada Betts, Brigette Morris, Emberlyn Morris, Addison Morris and Amelia Porter; and a nephew, Richard Davis of Fredricktown, Md.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a sister, Margaret Ciez.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC., 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville, PA 15359, 724-499-5181, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 11, with Pastor Cynthia Deter officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Township, with full military honors accorded by the U.S. Army, American Legion James Ferrell Post and Waynesburg Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4793.
