Ernest Ralph Donaldson Jr.
Ernest Ralph Donaldson Jr., 73, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 9, 2019, after a long battle with diabetes.
He was born on January 24, 1945, in Washington, a son of the late Ruth and Ernest R. Donaldson Sr.
He retired from the Observer Reporter Publishing Company after 36 years. He loved bowling, golfing and going to the casino.
On September 16, 1978, he married Susanne Knapp, who survives. They also have their beloved dog, Bailey.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Kathy (Tony) Donaldson and Chris (Chuck) Crews; his sister Barbara Jenkins; eight grandchildren, Bryan Bell, Brandon (Bethany) Bell, Kayla (Adam) Fischer, Christopher (Bridget) Crews, Shawn (Amanda) Crews, Nicholas (Tracy) Gauck, William (Gayle) Gauck and Amber (Christopher) Zatezalo; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 15. Entombment will follow at Washington Cemetery Garden Mausoleum.
