Linton R. Salzman

Linton R. Salzman, 70, of Monongahela, (Valley Inn) died Sunday, January 13, 2019 in his home.

Born April 8, 1948 in Union Twp., he was the son of the late Charles W. and Alice Mae (Crumb) Salzman.

Linton was a 1966 graduate of Monongahela High School and had retired after 43 years from U.S. Steel Clairton Works.

A member of the First Presbyterian Church in Monongahela, Linton always enjoyed classic cars, especially his 1969 Ford Torino Fast Back, and listening to Doo-Wop music.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn (Harmon) Salzman, who he married November 15, 1969; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kellie and Michael Allridge of Charleroi, and Kristie Salzman of Monongahela; three grandchildren, who were the love of his life, Jacob Michael and Tyler Linton Allridge and Tess Ann Salzman; three brothers, Charles Salzman of Mastic, N.Y., James Salzman of Elco, and David Salzman of Bee Spring, Ky.; a sister, Stephanie Toperzer of Veron Beach, Fla.; and his pups, who will miss sitting on his lap. Preceding him in death were two sisters, Catherine Timlin and Lily Maloy.

Friends will be received at the Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess Street, Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Friends and family are asked to meet at the First Presbyterian Church, Main and 6th streets, Monongahela, on Friday, January 18, for services beginning at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Mark Woomer officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
