Zona Gale Rhodes

Zona Gale Rhodes, 76, of West Brownsville, died Sunday, January 13, 2019.

She was born Thursday, May 21, 1942, in West Brownsville, a daughter of the late Ralph and Jessie Bakewell Miller.

She was a member of West Brownsville VFD Ladies Auxiliary; the West Brownsville American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star. Zona’s favorite pastime was watching her grandchildren play basketball and baseball.

In addition to her parents, Zona was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Rhodes; brother Ralph “Sonny” Miller Jr., and sister Maryann Miller, who died in infancy.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie Gale and Von Braddock, and Dawn Cheree and David Timko; and sister-in-law, Darlene Miller, all of West Brownsville. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Devin and Jessie Braddock, Derek and Davey Timko, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday and until 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, when funeral services will be held in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Downes officiating.

Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.

The West Brownsville VFD will accord services on Friday evening at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the West Brownsville VFD, 238 Middle Street, West Brownsville, PA 15417.
