Annabelle Keefer

Annabelle Keefer, 96, of Avella, formerly of Brownsville, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019, in McMurray Hills Manor, Canonsburg.

She was born on October 5, 1922 in Adah, Fayette Co., daughter of the late James Evan and Mary Elizabeth Brooks Burke.

Ms. Keefer was a member of Apostolic Gospel Church in Brownsville.

She had lived in Langeloth for 27 years and had lived in Avella since 2007.

Ms. Keefer enjoyed socializing with friends, playing PO-KE-NO, canning, cooking and loved being a homemaker “domestic engineer”.

Surviving Ms. Keefer are three daughters, Pearl E. (Edward) Powers of Avella, Emma (Charles) Long of Avella and Irene Keefer of Houston; six sons, Donald (Rosemary) Keefer of McDonald, Robert (Sarah) Keefer of West Alexander, Ronald (Linda) Keefer of Avella, James (Susan) Keefer of West Newton, Mark Keefer and his fiance Marla Kemmerer of Delmont and David Burke of Brownsville; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Della Smith of Brownsville, Dorothy McManus of West Brownsville and Bessie Chevron of Cleveland, Ohio.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, are a sister, Margaret Hunyady; two brothers, Robert and Charles Burke; and a granddaughter, Dawn Marie Keefer.

Friends and family will be received from 1 to 4 p.m., the time of the service, on Saturday, January 19, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312, with Pastor Rich Narus.

Burial will be at a later date in Acklin Cemetery, Merrittstown.
