Dale M. Gapen, 83, of Mapletown, Pa., died Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Born in Dunkard Township on March 13, 1935, he was a son of the late Herschel and Hazel (McCann) Gapen.
A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was a skilled machinist by trade.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Helen (Kuhla) Gapen; three children, Roxanne Stillwagon of Masontown, Daniel Gapen, and Holly Bird (Joe Yurick), all of Mapletown; five grandsons; and many friends.
Also deceased are two brothers, Herschel and Delbert.
The family will receive friends in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 5 p.m. in the funeral home. Private Interment will be in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Greensboro. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be offered to the American Cancer Society.
