John William McNeely
John William “J.B.” McNeely, 72, of Waynesburg, died at 4:30 a.m., Friday, January 25, 2019 in the Washington Hospital in Washington.
He was born Tuesday, May 28, 1946 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Charles Mack McNeely and Thelma Craig McNeely.
He was a veteran in the U.S. Army Reserve. Mr. McNeely was a Past Commander for the James Farrell American Legion Post #330, a member of the Moose Lodge #461 and the Masonic Lodge #153 F & AM all of Waynesburg. He loved to fish, hunt and watch Steeler games. Mr. McNeely worked as an agent for Prudential Insurance Co. and later worked for the Department of Recreation for Greene County. His wife, Connie Hill McNeely, survives. Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Tera Harvey Smith and husband Matt of Brooksville, Fla., and Carla Caldwell of Scottsdale, Ariz; one grandson, Jake Bishop Smith. He was dearly beloved by several cousins as well.
There will be no public visitation. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Cynthia Deter officiating. Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director, 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg, PA 15370, are in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rogersville, Pa. Graveside military rites to be accorded by Greene County Veterans. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to The American Legion, 445 E. Lincoln St., Waynesburg, PA 15370.
