Barry George Stutts
Barry George Stutts, 63, of Canonsburg, died Friday, July 5, 2019.
He was born February 24, 1956, in Canonsburg, a son of John and Helen Kinkle Stutts.
Barry was a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School. He then went on to receive his bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and eventually his MBA from Waynesburg University.
He spent most of his professional career at Bayer Material Science, followed by several years at Solvay.
Barry had a long commitment to environmental stewardship. He was an initial co-chair of the SWPA Household Hazardous Waste Task Force, and served on the board of the Pennsylvania Resources Council for eight years and on the advisory board of the Duquesne University Center for Environmental Research and Education for nine years.
Surviving are his daughters, Sarah (Richard) Baker of Pittsburgh and Melissa (Jonathan) Bensie of Cleveland, Ohio; his brother, J. David (Jacqueline) Stutts of Harrisburg; sister Barbara Stutts of Spring Hill, Fla.; four grandchildren, Colin, Brayden and Dustin Bensie and Vivian Baker; and his nephew, Vincent (Chrissy) Stutts.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no public visitation and services are private.
