Edward F. Hickman
Edward F. Hickman, 85, of Washington, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019.
He was born January 8, 1934, in Wheeling, W.Va., a son of the late Rule and Druzilla Edge Platt.
He was a graduate of Wellsburg (W.Va.) High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Hickman worked for 30 years at Jessop Steel, before retiring in 1997.
Edward was a member of Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
He dearly loved his dog, Buddy.
On June 29, 1963, he married Mary Anne Edens, who passed away January 19, 2016.
Surviving are a son, John F. (Fran) Hickman of Washington; a daughter, Darla A. (the late Tim) McClain of Washington; a sister, Dora Mae Hickman of West Virginia; six grandchildren, Sierra, Lance, Justin, Joshua, Travis and Kody; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Several stepbrothers have passed away.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m., the time of services, Saturday, July 20, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Sue Petritis officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the funeral home, following the services, by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
Entombment in Washington Cemetery Mausoleum will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
