John C. Grudi
John C. “Yush” Grudi, 80, of Houston, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 1, 2019, in his home.
He was born August 13, 1938, in Washington, a son of John F. Grudi and Elizabeth “Betty” Munce Gilbert.
Mr. Grudi proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force.
He was Presbyterian, and a member of the American Legion Post 902.
Mr. Grudi enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards with his family and friends.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for Continental Can Co., and later for Timberline Packaging.
On June 25, 1966, he married his loving wife of over 52 years, Dawna Jo Chastel Grudi, who survives.
Also surviving are his sons, Andrew John (Iris) Grudi of Santa Rita, Guam and David William Grudi of Houston; his daughter, Holly Lynn Grudi Jensen of Houston; grandchildren, Alyssa Grudi, Caitlyn Black, Garrett Sollon and Kadence Grudi; sister, Janice Grudi Butterfield of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, deceased is his sister, Linda Grudi Thurman.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000. Services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
