Geraldine S. Barbosky
Geraldine S. “Geri” Barbosky, 79, of Canonsburg, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 11, 2019, in her home.
She was born September 29, 1939, in Canonsburg, to John F. Walko Sr. and Susan Chervenak Walko, who preceded her in death.
On August 9, 1965, she married the love of her life, Walter W. Barbosky, who passed away April 7, 1994. She mourned his passing for the rest of her life.
Geraldine was a dedicated employee of Southwest Training Inc. since 1979 as an administrative assistant. She was employed there for 38 years and was still employed there at the time of her passing.
Mrs. Barbosky was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church for many years and then joined St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was a woman of great faith who attended Mass and helped those whom God placed in her path.
She served for 10 years as a respected volunteer at Family Hospice and Palliative Care of Mt. Lebanon. Her compassionate heart and individualistic nature endeared her to all who were blessed to call her friend.
Geraldine enjoyed traveling to ocean destinations, including Rehoboth Beach, Del., and enjoyed the company of her friends and family immensely.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Lisa A. Barbosky and future son-in-law Edward Kubacki of Canonsburg; her brother, John Walko of Canonsburg; her sisters, Darlene Mann (former brother-in-law Anthony Mann) and Roberta Orten (former brother-in-law Richard Orten), both of Wilmington, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
