David A. Mayton

David Andrew Mayton, 22, of Vestaburg, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019.
He was born April 2, 1997, in Washington, a beloved son of David and Lisa Mowl Mayton of Vestaburg, who are heartbroken.
David was a 2016 graduate of Beth-Center High School and was currently employed and loved his job as a truck driver with Neiswonger Mining and Construction Co.
David started firefighting as a junior firefighter with West Brownsville Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 and was currently a firefighter with East Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Department. He learned a lot from his brother firefighters and would look to them for guidance, especially John Dilts.
David had great balance and coordination. He started riding a pedal bike at the age of 2. He loved building and jumping ramps and was known to be quite a daredevil. He was a self-taught mechanic with the guidance of his Pap Mowl and some of his friends. He could tear apart and fix an engine at a very early age. He was fearless and loved speed. He raced motocross at various tracks with the number 451. He couldn’t wait for his 16th birthday to get his driver’s license and then his motorcycle license, and most recently his commercial driver’s license.
He loved his Dodge Diesel Cummins truck and most of all riding his street bike with his friends. He had so many special friends, Nick, Ethan, Brett, Jay, Noah, Tori, Austin, Jordan, Jimmy, Tyler, Gabrielle, Koree, Cam, Dakota, Joey, Hunter, Brody and Brady and so many others.
He was known for his great sense of humor, big heart and his love of speed. Hunting with his father, David, was very special to him.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Brandi (Jeff) Christner of Fredericktown; maternal grandmother Cecelia Mowl of Vestaburg; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. He enjoyed spending holidays with his close family, including aunts and uncles Stacey Crawford, Todd and Regina King and cousins Wyatt Crawford, Caty King and Eddie Beck and their son, Joey.
Deceased are his maternal grandfather Charles J. Mowl Jr.; paternal grandparents Andrew D. and Pauline Golmitz Mayton; and special cousin Brian Winwood.
