Gerald Vereb

Gerald Vereb, 57, of Fort Mill, S.C., formerly of Burgettstown, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 29, 2019.

He was born February 16, 1962, a son of the late George and Rosella Harshall Vereb.

A 1980 graduate of Burgettstown High School, he also attended the Airco Welding Institute in Pittsburgh and was employed for 34 years as a baggage handler for US Airways and American Airlines at the Pittsburgh and Charlotte international airports.

He is survived by his brothers, George Vereb and wife Diana of Pittsburgh, and Michael Vereb and wife Michelle of McDonald; his sister, Mary Okorn and husband Jack of Atlasburg; brother-in-law Matthew Rozmus of Burgettstown; nieces and nephews Jeffrey Vereb, Leah Lubbert and husband Gage, Jordyn Charlier and fianc Kevin Bielecki, Rachael Charlier, Dejanira Okorn, Zachary Okorn, Austin Rudy, Noah, Wyatt and Gunnar Vereb, Zackery and Jacob Rozmus.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Stanley Vereb; his sister, Terry Rozmus; and a nephew, Joshua Vereb.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, in Burgettstown Presbyterian Church, 1325 Main Street, Burgettstown, with the Rev. Cinda Isler officiating, followed by a luncheon and time of fellowship at Burgettstown Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall, 1507 Main Street, Burgettstown.

Inurnment will be held privately in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery, Burgettstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to National Stroke Association at www.stroke.org.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
