Barbara Ann Savko
Barbara Ann Savko, 83, of Bethel Park, formerly of Canonsburg, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019. She was born September 20, 1936, a daughter of the late John E. Cwik and Ethel M. Podrasky.
After graduating high school, Barbara pursued a nursing career and graduated from South Side Hospital School of Nursing in 1958. She enjoyed her career in nursing, with varying degrees, for almost 50 years.
Left behind to cherish Barbara’s memory are her children, Sandra Savko, William Savko, Mary Joy (Steve) Gilpin, Diane (Peter) Roth and Donald William (Carole) Savko Jr.; her grandchildren, Marybeth, Vanessa, Andrea, Stephanie, Kristina, Elizabeth, Rachel, Rebecca, Jonathan and Justin; her great-grandchildren, Alexa, Kaitlin, Kali, Camdyn, Rayne, Brielle and Benjamin. Also surviving is her brother, Bob (Rose Marie) Cwik of Cape May, N.J.
Her sister, Donna Anderson, preceded her in death.
She was and always will be the foundation of the family she created and dedicated her life to. Her greatest joy was being with her family. She delighted in sharing in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was everything to everyone and will always be in our hearts.
Friends and relatives are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 8, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will begin at 9:25 a.m. Saturday, November 9. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg.
