William V. Bartowick
William V. “Bill” Bartowick, 77, of Columbus, Miss., died Thursday, October 31, 2019, at Vineyard Court Nursing Center in Columbus, Miss.
He was born January 31, 1942, in Centerville Borough, a son of the late Joseph and Pauline Martin Bartowick.
Bill was a graduate of the University of Maryland, with a degree in accounting.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and retired after 26 years of service as a chief master sergeant. He then worked for the Air Force as a civilian GS12 for 18 years.
Bill was an avid golfer and a member of Green Oaks Golf Club. He was a huge fan of all sports.
On November 10, 1972, he married Nancy Dawson, who died July 3, 2005.
Surviving are three sisters, Rosemary (Pete) Arigoni of Jefferson, Judith (Steve) Bane of Clarksville and Charlotte Workman of Fredericktown; and stepchildren Debbie D. Lloyd and Fred W. Lloyd Jr.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are two sisters, Sophie Stimmell and Betty Bane; and a brother, Joseph Bartowick.
Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m., the hour of services, Tuesday, November 12, in Behm Funeral Homes, Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, with Father J. Francis Frazer officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Air Force.
