John C. Fiem
John C. Fiem, 67, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019, in Mon Valley Hospital.
He was born November 10, 1951, in Washington, a son of Delores Waid Fiem of Washington, who survives, and the late Louis Fiem.
Mr. Fiem was a 1969 graduate of Trinity High School.
He honorably served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal for his service.
An underground coal miner, Mr. Fiem was employed for 36 years by Beth Energy Corp. at their Livingston Portal. He was a member of the mine rescue team and participated in many mine rescue meets and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local 1197.
He was a member of the Ellsworth Sportsman’s Club, the Loyal Order of Moose 1625, Cokeburg, and American Legion Post 175, Washington. He enjoyed fishing, boating, coaching Little League baseball and was a gun enthusiast and particularly enjoyed his trips to Virginia Beach with his family.
On August 2, 1986, he married Kerry Ann Fiem, who survives. They celebrated 33 years of marriage.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are two sons, Steven Jacob Fiem of Clarksville and Christopher Fiem of Washington; three brothers, Tony Fiem (Diana) of South Carolina, Alan Fiem (Mary Ann) of North Carolina and Russell Fiem of Monongahela; sister Doreen Burnsworth (Matt) of West Alexander; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 14, in Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Sheldon Barnett officiating. Interment will be private.
