Joyce Marie Strnisa Kortepeter
Joyce Marie Strnisa Kortepeter of Canonsburg took her walk home with her Lord, peacefully on the morning of Thursday, November 14, 2019, after a long, but courageous battle with COPD and osteoporosis.
She was a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and the Washington Hospital School of Nursing. Joyce was a loving wife, daughter, sister and mother. She held several positions over the years at local hospitals and health care facilities in the service and care of the needy as a nurse and office administrator. In addition, Joyce provided daytime care for her autistic second cousin, Hunter, until succumbing to her own health issues.
When not engaged in work, Joyce enjoyed fun and sun at the beach or pool. She loved life and lived it from the top shelf, right up to the end.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Betty Strnisa; and her husband, Steve Kortepeter.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her two sons, Steven Dale Kortepeter of Virginia and Christopher Kortepeter of Canonsburg; three brothers, Frank W. Strnisa and wife Sherry of Burgettstown, Ronald W. Strnisa and wife Lori of Canonsburg, and Christopher J. Strnisa and wife Lisa; nieces and nephews Joshua, Zachary, Scott, Sierra, Sandor, Jaden, Jacob and Bayly; and several great-nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
