John Michael Hansen
John Michael Hansen, 72, of Canonsburg, died Sunday, November 17, 2019.
He was born June 1, 1947, in Philadelphia, a son of John and Dorothy Haag Hansen.
He proudly served his country with the United States Navy during Vietnam.
Mr. Hansen graduated from the Spartan School of Aeronautics, in Tulsa Okla., and worked in sales with industrial parts. He was a passionate chef, loved to cook, and started a catering and sausage company. He cooked pasta for the Canon-McMillan football team on Thursdays for many years.
During his younger years, he was a competitive skater. He enjoyed sailing and reading. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 in Canonsburg.
On February 1, 1986, he married Lisa Marie Baun Hansen, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Annemarie Boeve and her husband, Daniel, of Port Orchard, Wash.; his sister, Patricia Hansen; and his sister-in-law, Karen Bryant.
Mr. Hansen was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, November 25, at Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, in the funeral home, followed by burial in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, with full military honors rendered by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 Honor Guard.
