Frank Taucher
Frank Taucher, 50, of Palm Coast, Fla., passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Friday, September 27, 2019, in his home.
He was born February 3, 1969, a son of Francis “Gene” Taucher of Burgettstown and the late Virginia Garritano Taucher.
He was a graduate of Burgettstown High School, later earning a bachelor’s degree in finance from California University of Pennsylvania. Following a lifelong dream to become a pilot, Frank then completed Embry Riddle Aeronautical University’s CAPT program to begin his commercial flying career.
Frank spent the past 8 years proudly flying for Air Wisconsin Airlines.
In addition to his father, Frank is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Anita Cooke Taucher; his brother, Timothy Taucher and wife Lynn of Wexford; a sister, Michele Ingram and husband Bart of Findlay Township; his father- and mother-in-law, Edwin R. and Nicki Lou Drazick Cooke of Burgettstown; as well as his adoring niece, Maggie Ingram, and four nephews, Jack and Beck Taucher and Tyler and Warren Cooke.
Frank enjoyed playing softball in Burgettstown and, after moving to Florida, shared motorcycle riding and boating with his wife and liked driving his Jeep on the beach with his endeared dog, Ringo. Frank took great pride in his hometown, though, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He was known for his dry sense of humor and great smile, which left a lasting impression with everyone he met.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021, where departing prayers will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 5, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 1109 Main Street, Burgettstown, with the Rev. Zach Galiyas as celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
