Sally Rae Bauduin

Sally Rae Bauduin, 75, of Burgettstown, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 16, 2019, in her home.

She was born Sally Rae Harris June 15, 1944, in East Liverpool, Ohio, a daughter of the late Sherman and Mary Berresford Harris.

A 1962 graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, she retired from Choice Outlets. After retiring from Choice, Sally worked at several Burgettstown businesses over the years including T’s Locker Room and the Family Dollar.

Sally was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam era. She received the National Defense Service Medal and served as a secretary at The Pentagon during that time. Sally’s picture was used on a nationwide Marine Corps recruiting poster in order to recruit more women into the Corps. She was a lifelong member of the Burgettstown American Legion, holding many offices throughout the years. Sally also served as the steward at the Burgettstown Veterans of Foreign Wars for many years.

Sally loved rooting for all her Pittsburgh sports teams, working on puzzles and always had a book on her nightstand. Sally enjoyed her trips to Mountaineer and “broke even” every time she went.

Sally is survived by her daughters, Deana Tender and husband Tommy of Burgettstown, and Joanna Forbes and husband Jonathan of Boardman, Ohio; and her brother, Sherman Harris of Greensboro, N.C.

She was the beloved Grammy Sally to her grandchildren, Jesse, Amanda, Corrina, Brittany, Julia, Jude, Connor and Colin; and her great-grandchildren, Jessica, Haleigh and Rylee. She was also the beloved Aunt Sally, cousin, and extended family member to many.

Deceased in addition to her parents are her son, Sherman Huber; and her sister, Sandra Harris.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 24.

Interment with full military honors accorded by the United States Marine Corp Honor Guard will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
