Donald W. Temple Sr.
Donald W. Temple Sr., 86, of Ellsworth, formerly of Washington, died Thursday, October 17, 2019.
He was born December 14, 1932, a son of the late Wilmont and Ann McIntosh Temple. He was raised by his grandmother, Catherine Cross.
Donald was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School and attended Glendale University in Glendale, Ariz.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean conflict.
Donald worked for H.F. Teichmann Inc., Frazier Simplex and various other engineering companies throughout the United States as a structural designer and draftsman.
He was a member of American Legion Post #175 and the Pulaski Club. He enjoyed playing pool, playing cards, gambling and traveling to casinos.
On May 5, 2001, he married Olive “Cookie” Gump, who died August 6, 2018.
Surviving are a son, Rodney M. (Patty) Temple; two brothers, Eugene (Faye) Temple and John (Ruth) Peacock; three grandchildren, Nikki (Doug) Horr, Jackie (Tim) Campbell and Elizabeth Temple; four great-grandchildren, Caiti, Amy, Garrett and Skylar; and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Temple.
Deceased are a son, Donald W. Temple Jr.; and a brother, Robert Peacock.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 26, at Washington Cemetery, 498 Park Avenue, Washington. Arrangements have been entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
Military honors will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
