Rudolph J. “Rudy” Katrencik, 77, of Southview, passed away peacefully Thursday October 24, 2019 in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon Township, with his devoted family by his side.

He was born October 14, 1942, a son of the late Rudolph A. and Grace Nahay Katrencik.

Mr. Katrencik was Catholic and lived his life in Hendersonville, Carnegie and the past 14 years in Southview. He proudly served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Southerland and was a member of the American Legion Post 0082 in Carnegie. Rudy enjoyed hunting and fishing.

On June 13, 1970, he married Carol Yarkosky, who survives. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Jason R. Katrencik and his wife Leigh of Bulger; his sister, Janet Kouklakis and her husband Pete of Canonsburg; brother Paul X. Katrencik of Canonsburg; stepgrandson, Anthony Cieslak; a nephew, Jeffrey Katrencik; and a niece, Lisa Katrencik.

Deceased is a nephew, Paul Katrencik Jr.

Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a Catholic blessing service will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 29. Interment with full military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 Honor Guard of Canonsburg and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard will take place at 10:30 a.m. in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
