Charles William Seik

Charles William Seik, 83, of Washington, died Monday, October 28, 2019, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.

He was born August 8, 1936, in Hickory, a son of the late Norman and Minnie Ruchinski Seik.

Mr. Seik was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Avella.

He was a graduate of Chartiers High School.

Mr. Seik retired from Washington Steel after 41 years.

He was member of the Knights of Columbus.

In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, bowling and spending time with his family.

On November 12, 1955, in Avella, he married Dorothy M. Dhayer, who died October 5, 2001.

Surviving are two sons, Charles R. (Jill) Seik of Latrobe and Robert A. (Deana) Seik of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Lori Ann Garove of Washington; a brother, Daniel (Eileen) Seik; three sisters, Norma Jean Roberts, Loretta (Olan) Pryor and Patricia (Albert) Nagy; three grandsons, Christopher Haught and Charlie and Samuel Seik; two great-grandsons, Damien and Logan Haught; three stepgrandsons, Ryan, Justin and Shaun Gobbel; two stepgreat-granddaughters, Alexis and Makenzie Gobbel; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother, Edward Seik.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. A Parastas service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday evening. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 2, in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 176 Cross Creek Road, Avella, PA 15312. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
