Loving Mother and Wife
Lois Ann Florian, 88, of Washington, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2019, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born August 9, 1931, in Washington, daughter of the late James E. Scott and Florence M. Rothermund Charlesworth.
Mrs. Florian was proceeded in death by the love her life, John R. “Jack” Florian, whom she married on August 17, 1951, at Saint Hilary Catholic Church.
Lois graduated from Washington High School in 1949 and was employed by Anderson Transfer, Moving and Storage as an Office Manager.
Mrs. Florian loved being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Surviving are 13 children, Pam Kenny, Steve Florian, Marian (Mickey) Nelson, Becky Stevens, Jeff (Penny) Florian, Dennis Florian, Rodger (Doris) Florian, Chris (Ann) Florian, Valerie (Tom) Amos, Cindy Spinler, Glenn (Sandy) Florian, Allison Gajdosik and Amy (the late Sean F.) Currey; 41 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her two sisters, Peggy Caesber and Carol Beckwith.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her son “Little” Joey; two grandchildren; a sister, Laura Miller; and two brothers, Wilbur Scott and Richard “Dick” Scott.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 7th, in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Washington, with Father Tom Lewandowski as celebrant. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Concordia Hospice, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
