Charles M. “George” “Pickle” Wilson, 66, of Waynesburg, died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2019, in his home.

He was born Sunday, March 8, 1953, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Charles Robert Wilson Sr. and Margaret Y. McDowell Wilson.

Mr. Wilson was affiliated with the Nazarene faith. He was a graduate of Waynesburg Central High School Class of 1973. He was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1973 to 1988 and was a sergeant in Company C, 2nd 110th Infantry and 81MM during the Vietnam War. He was a member of James Farrell American Legion Post 330 in Waynesburg, Waynesburg Moose Lodge 461 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4793 Auxiliary.

He worked for H.J. Wright Service Station in 1966. From 1972 to 1975, he worked as a custodian for Y.D.C., then from 1975 to 1979, he worked for A.P. Teaco as a handyman in Waynesburg. He then worked from 1979 to 1985 for the Waynesburg Beer Distributor and from 1985 to 1989, he worked for Pascuzzo Beer Distributor in Carmichaels. In 2004, he worked for Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina in yard maintenance.

Surviving are four sisters, Rosella Moore of Carmichaels, Emma Baker of Mt. Morris and Mary Wilson and Martha Wilson, both of Waynesburg; four brothers, Charles R. Wilson Jr. of Pinewood, S.C., Martin L. Wilson of Carmichaels, David R. Wilson of Carmichaels and Fred A. Wilson of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is his girlfriend, Mary A. Cyphers, who died May 30, 2011.

Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m., the time of service, Friday, September 13, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with the Rev. William Parker officiating. Burial will be private. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by Greene County Veterans.
