Linda Sue Barr
Linda Sue Barr, 68, of West Alexander, died Thursday, September 12, 2019, in Donnell House, Washington.
She was born July 14, 1951, in Washington, a daughter of Vivian Knight Renshaw of Washington and the late Edward Ray Wood.
A 1969 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School, she went on to graduate from Washington Hospital School of Nursing in 1972.
Linda worked as a registered nurse at Washington Hospital, before retiring in 2013.
A person who lived and loved her simple and fulfilled life, she was a great woman, wife, mom, grandma and friend, as well as a wonderful nurse, who cared deeply for the patients she supported.
Linda was avid football fan – she enjoyed little league football, high school football, college football and especially her Pittsburgh Steelers. She also enjoyed gardening, crafts, camping, boating and sports.
On November 18, 1972, she married James T. Barr II, who survives.
Also surviving are two children, Jamie Lyn (Josh) Pattison, of West Alexander and Jason E. (Crystal) Barr of West Alexander; a brother, Richard (Margie) Wood of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; six grandchildren, Ethan, Clara, Julia and Lucas Barr and Jett and Jenna Pattison; and her dog, Izzy.
Deceased is a brother, Larry Wood.
A memorial gathering will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in First Christian Church, 615 East Beau Street, Washington, where there will be an additional memorial gathering from 11 a.m. to noon, the time of a celebration of life, Saturday, September 21.
