Katherine Ivcic McKeta

Katherine “Kay” Ivcic McKeta, 97, of Cokeburg, passed away Monday, September 23, 2019, in her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born August 14, 1922, in Ellsworth, a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Frankovich Ivcic.

Mrs. McKeta was a homemaker and also lovingly took care of the former St. Joseph’s Church in Cokeburg.

Katherine was a member of the St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Bentleyville Campus, the Women’s Guild, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Dolores 1675, Bentleyville, and the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 354 of Cokeburg.

Surviving are two children, Sister Saundra McKeta, Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of Denville, N.J., and Michael McKeta of Cokeburg; grandson Justin McKeta of Finleyville; three great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Colby and Cailyn McKeta of Belle Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Michael “Port” McKeta, who died November 15, 1991; a son, George McKeta (Judy); four brothers, John, Frank, Michael (Mitzi) and George Ivcic; and a sister, Ann Remish.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where prayers will be said 10 a.m. Friday, September 27, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Bentleyville Campus, with the Rev. Edward L. Yuhas officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
