John David Pavlek
John David Pavlek, 69, a hard-headed Russian, met his maker Friday, December 4, 2020, In Lawrence (Hill Station). He was born February 21, 1951, a loving son of the late Peter and Mary Chopak Pavlek.
John loved his Pittsburgh sports, especially the Penguins. He also enjoyed music and loved to dance. He was known for his work with youth baseball and his blue Christmas lights.
John was a member of the French Club, Polish National Union (PNU), the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lawrence, the Russian Club and Westland Sportsman’s Club.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved children, Jason Pavlek and Amber (Donald) Smittle; his loving wife, Tina DiBlasio; his brother, Robert Pavlek; and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his two grandpups, Jax and Opie.
Friends and family are welcome from 1 until 5:30 p.m., the time of services, Wednesday, December 9, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner / supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. A celebration of John’s life will follow at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Polish National Union, 510 Franklin Avenue, Canonsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canon Mac Youth Baseball League.
