Henry Robert Glaneman

Henry Robert Glaneman, 82, of Eighty Four, died Sunday, December 6, 2020, in the Residence at Hilltop, Monongahela. He was born March 2, 1938, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Henry L. and Grace Swift Glaneman.

Henry was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela. He obtained a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and earned his professional engineering certificate from the University of Pittsburgh. He retired from People’s Gas in Monongahela after 27 years as a division manager. From a committee formed at People’s Gas, he was one of the developers of the Pennsylvania One Call system. Henry also served for 25 years on the board of directors at the Monongahela Valley Hospital and was on the planning committee for the Residence at Hilltop.

He was an avid golfer, enjoyed woodworking, took great pride in his yard, and loved to take his grandchildren on cart rides with his tractor.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine M. Marshelwits Glaneman, with whom he celebrated 59 years of marriage January 7, 2020; three sons, Henry G. and wife Gail Glaneman of Nottingham Township, David P. and wife Sue Glaneman of Pittsburgh, John T. and wife Helena Glaneman of Nottingham Township; five grandchildren, Erica M., Steven H., Natalie E., Sarah A. and John Jr. Glaneman.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 10, in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela. Committal services and interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
