Evelyn Josephine Verholtz Frank, 90, of Groveport, Ohio, formerly of Strabane, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 6, 2020, in her home, with her family by her side. She was born February 10, 1930, in Canonsburg, to the late John and Josephine Verholtz.
Evelyn was happily married to her husband of 60 years, the late Nick Frank Sr. She was also preceded in death by their son, Glenn Allen in 1980.
Evelyn is survived by her sons, Nicholas Jr., Michael (Kathy); daughter Kristine (David) Passalacqua of Benicia, Calif.; grandchildren Paden (Kori) of Springfield, Ohio, Dylan (Kayla) of Groveport, Jennifer (Brandon) of Sacramento, Callif.; great-granddaughters River Josephine and Symphony Hope; brother Donald (the late Celie) Verholtz of Canonsburg; sister Gertrude (the late Francis) Zanin of Henderson, Nev.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Evelyn and Nick moved from Pennsylvania to California in 1957. She was a dedicated mother, housewife and baseball mom to their three sons. They owned and operated “The Cookie Jar” in Fountain Valley, Calif., and Mission Viejo, Calif., from 1977-1986. They moved to Ohio in 1989.
Arrangements by DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 10, in St. Mary Church, Groveport. Friends may pay respects to the family one hour prior to the church service. Father Brian O’Connor will be officiating. Interment will follow at Asbury Cemetery.
Masks are required at the church and social distancing must be observed.
The family will be planning a celebration of Evelyn’s life in the near future.
