Rose Carmella Sciabica Dixon, 100, died peacefully Saturday, December 5, 2020, in the Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg.
She was born in 1920 in Strabane, and was married to the late Jack C. Dixon for 60 years.
Carmella was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Vincenzo; brothers Samuel and Frank; and sisters Mary Jane and Lorraine.
After graduating from Canonsburg High School in 1938, she graduated from the Evelyn Ewart Beauty Academy and the Viviane Woodard Cosmetic School.
Carmella had been active in Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, Symphony South, American Legion Auxiliary (Post 902), Canonsburg Hospital Auxiliary, the General Federation of Womens’ Clubs and Red Hats.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynne and James Brown; her grandson, Michael; nephews James Ruscello and Chad Sciabica; nieces Karen Ruscello, Kristine Ruscello and Dawn Heatwole; and their children.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will occur in McMurray at a later date.
