Sandra Natali Eakin, 87, of Bentleyville, died Tuesday, December 8, 2020, in her home.
She was born April 10, 1933, in Monongahela, the daughter of Marino “Freckles” and Grayce Bianchi Natali.
She was a 1951 graduate of Our Lady of Mercy Acadamy in Pittsburgh. Before becoming president of Nat Industries in Bentleyville, Sandy was the owner of Sandy’s Supermarket in Monongahela. As a child, Sandy rode saddlebred horses around the Tri-State area and was one of the founding members of the Western Pennsylvania girls Barrel Racing Association. For many years she owned standard bred race horses under Nat Industries at the Meadows and was proud to have been asked to be the outrider in the year after the opening of the Meadows Race Track and with her late husband Paul always showed quarter horses.
Surviving are a daughter, Natalie Biagini of Monongahela; her sister, Celeste Spernak of Bentleyville; a niece, Christine Kruki of Monongahela; brothers-in law, William (Shirley) Eakin of Rea, and John (Rosemary) Eakin of Hookstown; a sister-in-law, Patricia (John) Post of Avella; her dog, Baci; and her former son-in-law, Bob Biagini of Monongahela.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Paul Eakin, who died in 1964.
Friends will be received in the Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess Street, Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 11. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Guests are asked to please wear face masks and abide by personal protective guidelines and social distancing.
