Catherine Puskarich

Catherine “Kay” Puskarich, 91, of Ellsworth, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in her home, with her son, John, by her side.

She was born July 31, 1929, in Washington, a daughter of the late Frank and Agnes Kaplan Stechly Sr.

She was a 1947 graduate of Ellsworth High School.

Along with her husband, she owned and operated a Texaco Service Station for more than 37 years.

She was a lifelong member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Bentleyville Campus, where she was known as one of the Pierogi Ladies. In 2013, she was granted the Manifesting the Kingdom recognition by the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh.

Along with being a devoted mother and grandmother, she loved tending to her yard, caring for plants and landscape. She was a huge Pittsburgh Penguins and Pirates fan and rarely missed a game on TV. She will be missed dearly by family and friends.

Surviving are three children, Gary Puskarich (Debbie) of Scenery Hill, Joan Eimer of Eighty Four and John Puskarich of Ellsworth; seven grandchildren, Marianne, Marley, Ryan, Chad, Kristen, Cameron and Ellie; and great-grandchildren Ava, Cat and Bracken; a brother, Frank Stechly; along with several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband, Frank “Swifty” Puskarich; a son, Mark Puskarich; a grandson, Alan Puskarich; seven brothers, Stanley, John, Ben, Ted, Walter, Lawrence and George Stechly.

Funeral services are private and under the direction of Greenlee’s Bentleyville Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 126 Church Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314.
