Mary E. Barnhart

Mary E. Barnhart, 89, of Amity, died Friday, December 11, 2020, in the Grove, Washington. She was born June 5, 1931, in Amity, a daughter of the late Alfred W. and Rosena Ullom Bolton.

She was a 1951 graduate of Trinity High School. Mary was a member of Amity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, feeding the birds and attending Brooks Bird Club.

In 1962 she married James E. Barnhart, with whom she shared 33 years of marriage before his passing in 1995.

She is survived by a daughter, Allison Rae Barnhardt; a son, Charles A. (Fred) Tenney; a sister, Bernice Elliott of Washington; and a grandson, Frederick Wilbur Hrouda.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are an infant sister; and a half brother, Charles Bolton.

Due to COVID-19, a private viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 14, in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15301, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 15. Interment will follow. COVID-19 restrictions will be in place.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be sent to National Audubon Society in her name.
