John Rush
John Rush, 97, of Washington, died Monday, December 14, 2020, in The Washington Hospital.
He was born June 18, 1923, in Washington, a son of George and Elizabeth Rush.
Mr. Rush worked at Washington Steel for 44 years, retiring as head electrician.
During World War II, he served in the Navy from September 21, 1942, until his honorable discharge on March 9, 1946, with a rank of Coxswain. He was awarded a World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African Area Medal with 2 stars, and an Asiatic-Pacific Area Medal with 1 star.
Mr. Rush was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, and was Lutheran by faith. He was a birdwatcher, and loved to fix things.
On April 22, 1950, he married Kathryn Julos, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Renee (Steve) Wilkins of West Chester, Laraine (Stan) Rush of Washington, and Amy (Nick) Pascuzzi of Washington; a brother, Charles Rush of Wyoming, Michigan; two grandchildren, Matthew (Alyson) Livolsi of McDonald, and Emily (Andrew) Manko of West Chester; a great-granddaughter, Nora Manko of West Chester; and several nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all services are private.
