Thomas Joseph Hammond

Thomas “Tom” Joseph Hammond, 33, of Bulger, passed away unexpectedly in an automobile accident on December 15, 2020.

Tom was born on July 7, 1987, raised in Cross Creek, Pa. He graduated from Avella High School in 2005, and later became a laborer for the Local 1058 Union, most recently working for Trumbull Corporation. Tom enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, spending time with his children, working, shooting guns, hunting, and occasionally drinking an ice-cold beer.

He is survived by his wife Megan Sparks Hammond; two daughters, Ava Grace and Eleanor Rose; parents, Oliver and Debbie Hammond of Cross Creek; sister, Dana Hammond of Washington, brother, Oliver Hammond (Michelle); and nieces, Riley and Harper Hammond of Avella; sister-in-law, Hollie Sparks; and niece, Elena McCord of Washington; grandmothers, Mary Virginia Hammond of Pittsburgh, and Mary K. Qualls of Spring, Texas; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his pet beagle, Lucy.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Oliver Hammond; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Lori Sparks of Claysville.

There will be a visitation for Tom from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 18 in Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown PA 15021, 724-947-2049. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is asked that everyone attending must wear a face mask and/or covering.
