She married Paul E. Baker August 27, 1955, in Corry. They settled in the Spartansburg area, where she became a full-time homemaker, and they raised four sons and one daughter. She was particularly known for her pies, with blackberry being a perennial favorite, her banana bread, and making pancakes. In later years, she became a faithful participant in aquarobics at the Corry YMCA and worked part-time for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture on agricultural surveys. Her husband died February 14, 2008, and she subsequently moved to Waynesburg.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Patrick Baker and Kevin Baker; her brother, Gordon Brown; and her grandsons, Khristopher Baker and Patrick Baker II.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her children, Michael Baker and wife Karin of Vero Beach, Fla., Shawn Baker of Washington, D.C. and Dakar, Senegal, Melissa Cramer and husband Mark of Waynesburg; her sister, Jacqueline Baker and her husband, James Baker of Mayville, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions, she will be laid to rest in a graveside service limited to immediate family at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Crawford County next to her beloved husband. When conditions permit in-person gatherings, the family will organize a memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Helen Keller International at One Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, Floor 2, New York, NY 10017 (www.hki.org), or to a charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center Street, Corry.
