Kenneth R. Howell

Kenneth R. “Snake” Howell, 84, of Weirton, W.Va., passed away at his home, Wednesday, December 23, 2020. He was born May 17, 1936, in Holidays Cove, W.Va. to the late Kenneth E. and Anna Belle Bolen Howell.

Ken is survived by his wife, Mildred Sue Cowden Howell, whom he married September 22, 1973; son, Scott; siblings, Ted Howell (Jo Ann), Gala Buchanan (late Oakey), Dotty OBerg (late Jim); grandsons, Seth and Shane Arnold; many nieces, nephews and a host of bluegrass friends.

Ken attended Weir High School and graduated with honors from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He was owner of funeral homes in Weirton and New Cumberland, W.Va., also as a funeral director in various locations for over 50 years. He was a funeral director at Perman Funeral Home in Pittsburgh for the past 29 years. He proudly served his country as Military Police in the U.S. Army and was an avid bluegrass fan. He was a member of Weirton Heights Church of Christ and a member and past president of the Weirton Lions Club.

Visitation and funeral services are postponed and will be announced at a later time. Arrangements made by Perman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
