Wayne E. Richard

Rev. Wayne E. Richard, 78, of Spraggs, died Sunday, December 27, 2020 in Washington Hospital, Washington.
He was born April 4, 1942, in Kingwood, W.Va., a son of the late Charles E. and Sylvia Smith Richard.
Wayne was a graduate of Mapletown High school.
Following high school, he served in the United States Army with the 50th Signal Battalion of the 82nd Airborne Division.
He was a coal miner for Target and Shannopin Mines and then owned and operated his own construction company, Wayne Construction.
Wayne was a member of the Greene Valley Church of God and an ordained minister.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all, preaching God’s word.
On June 3, 1961, he married Sandra G. Trimbath, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Wayne Richard Jr. of Ocean Grove, N.J., Shelly (Dan Basinger) Richard of Prosperity and Sherrie (George) Cummins of Waynesburg; a grandchild, Brodie Staggers.
Deceased are three brothers, Raymond Richard, Robert Richard and Edward Richard; and two sisters, Shirley Marietta and Susan Richard.
With following the COVID-19 restrictions, friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, in the Greene Valley Church of God, 558 Crucible Road, Rices Landing, PA 15357, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 31, with Pastor Jeff Hathaway officiating.
