Nadene H. Campbell Dodds
Nadene H. Campbell Dodds, 94, of Langeloth, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 5, 2020, in Southminster Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.
She was born August 14, 1925, a daughter of the late Arthur E. Campbell Sr. and Etta Noah Campbell.
Mrs. Dodds served as postmaster of the Langeloth Post Office and was a longtime and active member of Langeloth Community Presbyterian Church and the Burgettstown Area Senior Citizens Association, where she coordinated the Meals on Wheels program for 30 years. She was awarded the Burgettstown Library Good Egg Award in 1999 for her dedication to the community. The Burgettstown Area Senior Citizens Association, in addition to the Washington County and State Area on Aging, also honored Mrs. Dodds in March of 2016 for her many years of serving in volunteer roles.
On July 17, 1946, in Westminster Presbyterian Church in Burgettstown, she married William B. Dodds, who passed away November 15, 2008.
She is survived by her three children, Bonetta “Bonnie” Winters (the late Truett Rogers) of Oakland, Md., Dale S. Dodds (Marilyn Riley) of Ligonier and Robin “Robbie” Shoup (Larry Shoup) of Bavington; six grandchildren, Ian Winters (Evelyn Ficarra), Matthew Dodds, Adam Shoup (Christine Shoup), Thad Dodds (Christine Harmon), Stacey Dodds (John Paul Battista) and Sean Dodds (Sara Dodds); a sister-in-law, Alice Campbell; a niece, Benita Campbell of Burgettstown; and two great-nephews, Lucas Campbell and David Minchez. In addition, she was immensely proud of her five great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Lilyana and Ella Shoup, and Kaitlyn and Nathan Dodds.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur E. Campbell Jr.; sister Enid Jane Campbell Leeds; daughter-in-law Patricia Dodds; son-in-law Donald R. Winters; and her companion, Herbert Baughman.
Graveside services, officiated by the Rev. Clarejean Haury, were held privately for her immediate family in Grandview Cemetery, Florence, where she was laid to rest beside her husband. The family is planning a memorial celebration for sometime in the future.
