Daniel Richard Johnson, 57, died unexpectedly Thursday, November 5, 2020, peacefully in his residence in South Park.

Daniel is survived by his mother, Josephine Colicchie Johnson; his children, Gino Johnson and Mia Johnson; his brothers, David Johnson and Timothy Johnson; his nieces, Sara and Naomi; and his nephew, Benjamin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Douglas Johnson; his brothers, Ricky and Robby Johnson; his sisters, Linda and Julie Johnson.

Dan was born July 5, 1963, in Pittsburgh, to Richard Johnson and Josephine Colicchie. He graduated from St. Francis Nursing School in 1990 and worked as a Registered Nurse for 20 years in the fields of cardio thoracics, ortho trauma and most recently on the IV team at the Veterans Administration Hospital of Pittsburgh.

On October 26, 1991, he married Diana Angela Rubano and during their 13 years of marriage he welcomed his two beautiful children, son Gino and daughter Mia, who were the most important part of his life.

Dan was a devoted father, nurse and avid biker. He was known for his overwhelming love and compassion for helping make the lives of his patients and their families better. Outside of work, Dan enjoyed spending time with cherished friends at the White Eagles in Canonsburg, attending live concerts, exotic car shows and poker nights. In the remaining few years of Dan’s life, he developed a deep passion for motorcycles and began experiencing new adventures on his Harley Davidson with loving friends. In addition to these hobbies, Dan’s gift was his ability to lift the spirits of those around him. He was a man who often went out of his way to ensure the people around him were taken care of. For Dan, cooking was an outlet where he was able to express his caring and compassion. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues and all of the many lives he touched.
