Robert D. Cunningham
Robert D. Cunningham, 84, of Centerville Borough, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2020, in Washington Health System.
He was born May 12, 1936, in Clarksville, a son of the late George and Evelyn Crouch Cunningham.
Mr. Cunningham retired from the U.S. Air Force after proudly serving his country for over 20 years. He was a fuel cell mechanic on various aircraft throughout his career and served in Newfoundland, Germany, Thailand and Vietnam among many others.
Robert was a member of the St. Katharine Drexel Parish Richeyville Campus and also the Centerville American Legion Post #705 where he was also a member of the Honor Guard.
He enjoyed gardening, canning, playing horse shoes, was an avid Steelers and Ohio State fan, had a great love of dogs and was a huge fan and follower of musician B.E. Taylor.
On August 29, 1959, he married Frances T. Cunningham, who died October 22, 2019.
Surviving is his daughter, Theresa Mitchell of Canonsburg.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, is a brother, Burhl Cunningham.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 16. Interment will follow in the Westland Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded graveside by the Hancock-McCune-Horne American Legion Post #705 Centerville.
