George H. Shemansky Sr., 79, of Daisytown, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020, in his home.
He was born October 18, 1940, in Daisytown, a son of the late Bruno and Anna Malinsky Shemansky.
Mr. Shemansky was employed as the supervisor of West Pike Run Township for 29 years and also served as chairman of the Board of Supervisors.
George enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his best friend, Mary Shemansky; five children, George Shemansky Jr. of Richeyville, Michael Shemansky (Maricor) of Daisytown, Tony Shemansky (Bianca) of Coal Center, Carrie Ann Hainey (Richard) of Fremont, N.C., and Sandy Shemansky of Richeyville; three sisters, Shirley McKnight of Cleveland, Ohio, Delores Kudlac of Richeyville and Beverly Wright of Daisytown; his special friend Violet Jenkins of Daisytown; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, Bruno Shemansky Jr. and Marty Shemansky; one sister, Katie Siavic.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville. Funeral services are private. Interment will be in Taylor Cemetery.
