Keith Brock Kughn

Keith Brock Kughn, 87, of Waynesburg, Whiteley Township, died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021, in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

He was born Thursday, February 22, 1934, in the house that he has lived in his entire life in Whiteley Township, a son of the late David Jackson Kughn and Goldie Mae Brock Kughn.

Keith was a member of the Claughton Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a veteran having served with the United States Army 89th Division, Redstone Missile. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. Keith enjoyed hunting and fishing.

The day after his high school graduation in 1953, Keith started working for VanDruff Tractor Sales in Waynesburg. He then served two years in the Army. After serving in the Army, Keith worked for Don Lemley in construction doing all facets of construction and plumbing. He later worked for Wayne Lumber Company in Waynesburg again doing all facets of construction and plumbing.

He is survived by his wife, Marian Louise Barclay Kughn, whom he married Friday, October 5, 1956.

Also surviving are one daughter, Clara Jane (Gary) Babb of Bobtown; two sons, Frederick Keith (Michelle) Kughn of Franklington, N.C., and Ernest Ray (Tina) Kughn of Spraggs; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Kughn of Waynesburg; one sister-in-law, Mary Kughn of Danville, Va.; three grandchildren, Brian Keith (Kimberly) Kughn, Andrew Chad Kughn, Bradley Shane (Katie) Kughn; four great-grandchildren, Paisley Ann Kughn, Wilton Keith Kughn, Aubrey Remington Kughn, Everett Shane Kughn; two stepgrandchildren, Chase Wurl and Alyssa Walls; one stepgreat-granddaughterAurora Dawn Horowitz; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are one son, Edmund Jackson Kughn; one sister, Ruth Ellen Kughn, who died in infancy; and one brother, Harold Ellsworth Lester Kughn.

Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, April 5, in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 N. Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370. Masks must be worn while in the funeral home and social distancing will be followed. In following the CDC mandates, the number of people allowed in the funeral home at any given time will be limited. Services will be private at the Claughton Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jacob Judy and the Rev. Joseph Weaver officiating. Burial will be private in the Claughton Cemetery, Whiteley Township.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Claughton Chapel United Methodist Church, 1552 Big Shannon Run Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
