Bernhard Frank Coneybeer
Bernhard Frank “Barney” Coneybeer, 94, of Jefferson, died peacefully Thursday, April 8, 2021, in the Donnell House.
He was born June 23, 1926, in Leckrone, a son of the late Thomas and Anna Volk Coneybeer.
Barney served as a private first class in the U.S. Army during World War II and fought in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and the Philippines.
He worked at Crucible Mine and then National Mine in Isabella as a general mine foreman.
On September 18, 1947, he married Frances Belle McMinn, who survives.
Barney and Frances enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States and Canada in their motor home.
Also surviving are four children, Frances Belle (David) Russell of Westbrook, Conn., Judy Ann (Giovanni Piteo) Zaremba of Ocean City, Md., Bernhard Frank (Denise) Coneybeer Jr. of Carmichaels and Jeffrey Alan (Daneen) Coneybeer of Jefferson; nine grandchildren, John David (Heather) Russell, Benjamin Bernhard (Emily) Russell, Katherine Frances (Christopher Raymond) Russell, Tera Ann (Floyd) Clutter, Tatia Lynn (Donnie) Riggans, Daniel Frank (Angelica) Coneybeer, Alan Michael Coneybeer, Emily Rose (Brandon) Hinchey and Jeffrey Alan (Signa) Coneybeer Jr.; and 14 great-grandchildren, Carolyn Ann Clutter, Preston Anthony Clutter, Bohdan William Riggans, Conlan Bernhard Riggans, Harrison William Russell, Iris Katherine Russell, Molly Katherine Russell, John Cameron Russell, Tyler Coneybeer, Evan Coneybeer, Dahlia Coneybeer, Layla Hinchey, Mason James Coneybeer and Zoey Renee Coneybeer.
Deceased are two sisters, Anna Katherine Coneybeer and Margaretta Coneybeer; and three brothers, George Coneybeer, William Coneybeer and Robert Coneybeer.
Private services have been entrusted to the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor.
