Joseph Scattaregia Jr.
Joseph “Joe Bob” Scattaregia Jr., 66, of Scenery Hill, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 9, 2021, after a sudden illness. Joe was born August 20, 1954, a son of the late Joseph R. Scattaregia Sr. and Mary Alyce Scott.
He married the love of his life and soulmate, Kathleen Mick Scattaregia December 2, 1988. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Joseph R. (Johhnie) Scattaregia III; grandsons Preston and Bentley Scattaregia; brother and best friend Mike (Wendy) Scattaregia; sisters Lori (Bob) Cole, Leslie (Will) Smith, Domenica Scattaregia, Lisa Scattaregia, Nancie (Ken) Tormey and sister-in-law Sue Scattaregia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cherished friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Mark Scattaregia.
Joe was loved by all who met him. His infectious smile and sense of humor will be missed by all. He was an excellent horseman and blacksmith. Joe began riding at a young age with his lifelong friends, Bob and Jack Hoskin. He enjoyed horseback riding and camping in Allegheny National Forest with his wife and many friends, whom he always considered his extended family. He always had a smile on his face and a strong faith in his Lord Jesus. He enjoyed every bit of what life had to offer him. In Joe’s words, “I’m glad you could see me.”
Arrangements by Beinhauer. Visitation from noon to 4 p.m., the time of a funeral service, Monday, April 12, at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray.
